Grid computing harnesses the unused processing cycles of all computers, whether they are local or remote, across a network for solving problems too intensive for any stand-alone machine. To describe Internet grid computing, it enables the Internet to serve as the network that aggregates this unused processing capacity and makes it available to the desktops of those who can benefit from these supercomputing resources.
The WVHTC Foundation offers access to grid computing infrastructure via the Global Grid Exchange, and also provides technical support services and/or development support to those writing code to run across the grid.
